Vamos | Conceptual Car Rental in PR

App Design

Traditional car rental experiences feel stuck in the past. Long lines at counters, complicated forms, hidden fees, and confusing policies have become the norm. The concept behind Vamos was simple: what would a car rental experience look like if it were designed today for mobile-first users?

Vamos was developed as a conceptual product exploring a flexible, pay-as-you-go car rental model. Instead of rigid reservations and lengthy paperwork, the experience focuses on quick discovery, transparent pricing, and instant access to vehicles through a mobile app.

The design process began by studying existing rental platforms and mobility services. Reviews of services like Turo, Zipcar, and traditional rental companies revealed common frustrations. Many users described the process as slow, confusing, and unnecessarily complicated. People wanted flexible rentals, clear pricing, and the ability to see available cars in real time.

These insights shaped the core features of the product.

The interface centers around a map and list view that allows users to see nearby vehicles instantly. Filters help narrow results by distance, vehicle type, and pickup time so drivers can quickly find the right option.

Booking is intentionally lightweight. A simple three-step checkout flow removes unnecessary steps while still capturing the information required for reservations. Saved payment methods and biometric login streamline the process further.

Vehicle profiles provide detailed information including photos, specifications, range, and user reviews. These profiles give users confidence before booking.

For first-time users, a short onboarding walkthrough introduces how the platform works and highlights the flexibility of the pay-as-you-go model.

The final prototype presents a car rental experience that feels modern, transparent, and intuitive. Instead of feeling like a bureaucratic transaction, renting a car becomes something quick and effortless.
